Welcome to Liz’s World
Being a trans woman means surviving confusion, disappointment, and outright hostility.
Here, I share what that actually feels like — the signature trans experience with all its rawness, rage, humor, and grit.
Unfiltered. Blunt. Impolite. On purpose.

The Signature Trans Experience
This is a book I am co-authoring with the fabulous Jessica Krämer, aka alchknd. Across thirty often painful chapters, we tell the story of everyday life as a trans woman.
About Me
I’m in my late 50s, living in Washington State with my wife. I have a grown-up kid, built a career, and I only came out a few years ago. Growing up in the early 70s, I just did not have the role models I needed to imagine a path toward living as my authentic transgender self.
So I denied who I was for 50 years, trying to live a life that never felt right. It was painful and unnecessary, and it pushed me closer to the edge than I ever expected. Eventually there was no option left but to risk family, friends, and career and finally come out.
I hope this site can be a beacon for anyone who is denying themselves, questioning their identity, or feeling hopeless. You are not alone. It can be done. And yes, it is so much better on the other side.
I also hope some cis people find their way here. Maybe these stories help break down barriers and move us toward a world that is more understanding, more welcoming, and more accepting than the one we have now. Live and let live, together we strive.

If you are genuinely interested in what it means to be trans, if you have questions, if you need support, or if you are in pain, please reach out. I am happy to engage, and I am happy to help where I can.
However, this is not an invitation to share your political opinions or religious beliefs with me, and I am not interested in sexual advances.
